Saturday, 11/24, 8am: Rancho SF/Santa Luz w/ Teradactyls

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

If you are feeling a little guilty by the end of the day, US Coastal & The Teradactyl Bike club have a couple of remedies for you.

We will ride both Sat & Sun at 8am from the Starbucks in Solana Beach , just West of 5 , Lomas Santa Fe Exit.

The Saturday ride will be a rolling hill loop through the ranch & Santa Luz , no harm no foul (that's a Thanksgiving joke) but a good warm up for Sunday's ride detailed below. Not sure it's possible to get all 4 assaults on Mt. Soledad completed with the houses sliding down the hill and the street dropping off , but however many we are able to do will surely make you faster (if it doesn't kill you ;-). For you amnesty seekers , there is no requirement that you do all of the climbs anyway, come and join us!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thursday, 11/15, Witch Creek Fire Loop

Thursday, November 15th @ 6:15am

Pruden is calling us out for a familiar but newly named "Witch Creek Fire Loop" ride. Meet at Mary's coffee cart on the Southwest corner of Lomas Santa Fe and PCH in Solana Beach. It's a good opportunity to view a portion of the fire damage caused by the Witch Creek Fire and get some saddle time in as well... +/- 55 miles, +/- 4000 feet vertical gain.

Sunday, 11/18, 7am: Couser Canyon Loop

Join us for some saddle time on Sunday, November 18, 2007. We roll at 0700 hours/ 7:00am. Our plan is to head towards Valley Center via Lake Wohlford Rd; turn left on Woods Valley Rd., jog over to Lilac Rd, Lilac to Couser Canyon, North to Route 76 & back Westbound to the coast... The last 30 miles or so will be relatively flat including the San Luis Rey River bikepath and PCH from O'side back to Solana Beach. Bring plenty of fuel and a climbing attitude. Ride will be approx 85 miles with approx 5000 vertical gain (rough estimate). Plan on approx. 7 hours for this one... Rated "Outstanding" by San Diego County Cycling Connoisseur's Magazine.

PS A special thank you to Bruce Cline of the US Coastal Folsom crew for leading us on a Sac-n-Back tour of the American River Bike Trail. We started in Folsom, rode to Discovery Park across the bridge from Old Town Sacramento and returned. 53 miles, 16.2 mph average and some good pace line work. Andy doubled his miles for the year (ouch) and hung in there to the finish. Lori did some outstanding pulling until her enthusiasm took her and two others out on the damp pavement(fortunately she was prepared and was passing out ibuprofen after the pile up). Only flesh and ego wounds... Oh... and Bruce... You will need a helmet and a spare tube for road biking... just a hot tip! :-) Good time... thanks to all!

Sunday, 11/11 Folsom Ride

The plan is to meet at 112 Conductor Way in Folsom, CA at 7:30am.

We can leave the Natoma Station neighborhood and connect to the bike trail, then head west as far as we want to ride. There is water along the way, but no food, so bring power bars or whatever. We can deviate from the path on the way back to grab a bite to eat if you all want to.

Bruce Cline (US Coastal/Folsom) will lead US Coastal on a Tour of the American River Bike Trail. Plan for +/- 3 hours ride time. Pete Cohen, Andy Lamb, Bruce Cline & Robert Goss are all in for this NoCal ride opportunity.
